Bolingbroke: ‘Inter had a project…’

CEO Michael Bolingbroke says Inter “had a project for a redesign” of San Siro, before Milan “changed their minds”.

The Nerazzurri are meeting with their city rivals today to discuss the future of Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, after the Diavolo abandoned their idea for a new stadium.

“For the first two years Milan were focused on a stadium project at Portello,” Bolingbroke reminded ANSA outside of the meeting.

“We were working with the idea of managing San Siro by ourselves. We had created a project for a redesign, then Milan changed their minds.

“They asked to see our project and we’ve shared it. In this important meeting we’ll understand their intentions. It’d be good to work together.”

Club President Erick Thohir also stressed the importance of a solution to the stadium question.

“With further delays to the redesign of San Siro, there’s a risk that other clubs like Roma could surpass us.

“Juventus have reached €40m in revenue from ticket sales. It’s the way to go.”
