New Roma signing Ola Solbakken is ready to train with the Giallorossi, but he won’t be allowed to do so until the new year, as confirmed by a source of Bodo/Glimt.
Roma confirmed the striker’s signature in November. Solbakken has signed a contract until June 2027 and Roma boss José Mourinho hoped he’d be available to train with the rest of the team before the new year.
He has joined the Giallorossi on a free transfer from Bodo/Glimt, given that his contract with the Norwegian club expires on December 31.
However, as reported by Il Tempo and Il Corriere Dello Sport, Bodo haven’t allowed their player to train with his new club until January 1, 2023, when his contract with Roma formally starts.
A source from the club has told Il Tempo that Solbakken will remain at Bodo until the end of his contract until December 31.
Roma played two friendly matches in Japan last week and will continue preparation for the second part of the campaign in Portugal from next week.
Tiago Pinto is in talks with Bodo, hoping to persuade them to change their stance on the 24-year-old.
Meantime, Solbakken has posted his second Instagram post in a Roma shirt, writing ‘Affamato’ ‘starving’ in English, confirming his desire to train with his new team as soon as possible.
