With just days to go before the start of the season, it’s reported Domenico Berardi has asked Sassuolo for a transfer and is available for under €30m.
The Italy international saw his profile boosted by being part of the UEFA EURO 2020-winning squad this summer.
There had already been rumours of a potential push to leave the Mapei Stadium, but it had gone quiet until now.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Berardi has now informed Sassuolo directors he wants to leave for a new experience.
The original €40m asking price must be reduced in the circumstances and it’s reported he could be available for under €30m.
He is now 27 years old and a product of the Sassuolo youth academy, previously turning down a move to Juventus, the club that co-owned him for a while.
Last season, Berardi contributed 17 goals and eight assists in 30 Serie A appearances for the Neroverdi.
He plays primarily on the attacking right wing, but can also work on the left or in a more central role.
Among the clubs linked with a potential move are Milan and Borussia Dortmund.
