“We can also make history in Italy, as nobody has won the Scudetto six years in a row,” he told JTV after the formal Press conference.
“I am very happy to be back in Italy and, to be honest, I just couldn’t wait. My family and I struggled in Germany for two years, as they have a different mentality to the Italians and I really belong here.
“The opportunity for me to come to this club is very important. I try to help out in attack, but I am here to defend, to battle and I like it when my team doesn’t concede.
“It’s fun to score two or three goals per season, but my main focus has to be on defending.”
Benatia is reunited with his old Roma teammate Miralem Pjanic in Turin.
“Before I came here to Juve, I spoke to Pjanic almost every day. I am sure he’ll do great things at Juve.”
Does he have any particular nicknames?
“At Udinese the staff used to call me Benagol, as I scored a fair few goals there, but at Roma they referred to me as Bena.”
