Marco Benassi believes he is at Fiorentina ‘thanks to God’ and that European football must remain their target.
A run of five games without a win has seen Fiorentina fall out of Serie A’s top six, while Benassi has been linked with a return to Inter.
“I have a wonderful relationship with the Fiorentina fans, plus the city is fantastic,” the midfielder told Corriere Fiorentino.

“Do I want to stay for a long time? I’m in Florence and at Fiorentina thanks to God. Our objective can’t change because of some bad games, for everything we went through last season and the value of the team.
“We have to do better than last season and go back to Europe. Even for the Della Valles, the objective is to improve on what we did last season.
“Maybe the idea of seventh place doesn’t make our fans go crazy, but substance matters. I repeat, we want to get back into Europe.”
