Ishak Belfodil is excited to begin his Inter adventure, even if training is affected by his fasting during Ramadan.
The French-Algerian forward who joined from Parma this summer is a devout Muslim and therefore does not eat or drink before sunset during the holy month, which lasts from July 10 to August 8.
“Unfortunately Ramadan coincided with pre-season training this year, but things are going well anyway and I am happy with my performance so far,” he told Inter Channel.
“I missed two penalties in a friendly, but it’s better to miss them now than when it counts! I am very happy at Inter, which is a great club.
“At the start I struggled to adapt to Serie A with Stefano Pioli at Bologna. I was fine with the ball at my feet, but didn’t know how to move off the ball, which in Serie A is more important than anywhere else.
“I already started to learn at Bologna, then grew even mo0re at Parma and now I want to give my best at Inter.
“In France I played mainly on instinct, but in Serie A you have to be more concentrated. Comparisons with Karim Benzema? They are pleasing, but I won’t get a big head.”
