They had tried to negotiate it down, while there was also Serie A interest from Fiorentina and Torino.

However, Tuttomercatoweb and Fabrizio Romano claim this evening that Bayer Leverkusen have stepped up with an offer worth just under €30m, including performance-related bonuses.
This should be enough to convince Roma, who are happy just to have the Czech Republic international off their books.
Bayer Leverkusen have the money thanks to their €80m plus €20m in add-ons deal to sell Havertz to Chelsea.
