Andrea Barzagli admits Juventus “really ran some big risks” against Atalanta after a 3-2 Coppa Italia victory.
The Bianconeri booked their spot in the Quarter-Final, where they’ll face Milan or Torino on January 25, but it was a surprisingly nervy finale.
“We knew it was a tough game, we had it on track, but the truth is we took our foot off the gas a bit towards the end and really ran some big risks,” Barzagli told Rai Sport.

“This just proves you cannot take your eye off the ball for a second, because the opponents will punish you.”
Remarkably, this was the first time Juventus had conceded two goals on home turf since hosting Bayern Munich in February 2016.
“Atalanta are a very good side and they naturally took advantage. Any goal you concede, even one into the far top corner, is conceded because you made a mistake. It’s never a fluke.”
Juve face another difficult test on Sunday with their trip to rivals Fiorentina in Serie A.
“Fiorentina are truly strong at home, they play excellent football with many talented players, so it’ll be a fascinating game.”
