Barone, speaking to Radio 24, says the situation surrounding the Serie A calendar needs resolved immediately.

“It’s an emergency situation, the first thought naturally is to the health of the Italian people,” Barone told the station.

“Since we have been at the helm of Fiorentina, we have continuously asked for equal rules for everyone, both on and off the pitch.

“It’s our obligation to have a calm championship. Yesterday I asked for a meeting before Wednesday, we are in a situation in which the most important thing, aside from the health of everyone, is Serie A, not individual teams.

“Fiorentina follows and respects the rules, but as Italian football we are transmitting abroad that there isn’t credibility nor unity, at a time when we are trying to showcase ourselves to foreign investors.

“For the sake of Italian football we have to get to a fixed point, waiting until Wednesday for a league meeting is too late.

“We are all available tomorrow.”
