According to Diario AS in Spain, Barcelona coach Xavi is unwilling to swap Memphis Depay with Inter striker Joaquin Correa.
Multiple reports in Italy claimed Barcelona and Inter boards were in talks to complete a swap deal involving the two strikers. However, according to Diario AS journalist Javi Miguel, Xavi has blocked the potential transfer.
Correa, 28, has struggled to justify his €28m price tag at the Stadio Meazza, scoring nine goals in 57 appearances across all competitions with the Nerazzurri.
He joined Inter from Lazio in the summer of 2021 on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy.
Correa played 117 games with the Biancocelesti, scoring 30 goals. He has already played in La Liga, spending two seasons with Sevilla, where he netted 15 goals in 73 appearances.
His contract with the Serie A giants expires in June 2025.
Depay has scored one goal in four appearances with Barcelona this season, and his contract at Camp Nou expires this coming June. He was linked with a move to Juventus over the summer, but the Old Lady signed Arek Milik instead.
