Javier Mascherano’s future at Barcelona will reportedly be decided imminently, as the Napoli target’s agent is apparently in Catalonia.
Speculation has centred on the 29-year-old’s future since he first hinted in the closing weeks of last season that he may be leaving the Camp Nou.
Napoli have emerged as an interested party, with Rafa Benitez seen as keen to reunite with the player he spent time at Liverpool with, whilst the Anfield club are seen as also in contention to take him back to the Premier League.

Tuttosport are today leading with a report that Mascherano’s agent, Walter Tamer, is in Barcelona at the moment and is due to shortly meet with Coach Luis Enrique and sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta to discuss the situation.
It is believed that Tamer is after assurances that his client is still valued by the Blaugrana and reports go that the Catalan club may be prepared to show this in the form of a one-year contract extension to keep him until June 2016.
If, however, the club do not convince Tamer of their intentions with Mascherano, then he is seen as prepared to leave, opening the door to Napoli and Liverpool’s interest.
