Barca to activate Pjanic clause?

Barcelona are reportedly set on activating Miralem Pjanic’s €38m release clause this summer as Roma may feel the time is right to sell.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Barca have contacted Pjanic’s agent Michael Becker, with the intention of buying out the midfielder’s contract.

The newspaper adds Pjanic was alluding to La Blaugrana when he told the Spanish Press of his desire to win after La Roja’s 3-1 win against Bosnia-Herzegovia last weekend.

Roma were believed to regarded the former Lyon ace as “unsellable”, but La Gazzetta claims they are considering a sale as his release clause will drop to €28m next summer, while his contract would only have a year left.

Juventus, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with the 26-year-old.
