The Italy striker received two yellow cards in three minutes during the 0-0 World Cup qualifier in Prague on Friday night.
He was furious and punched the perspex wall of the dugout, then kicked the tunnel as he left the field.
“Was it a red card? You watch the footage back and tell me,” he snapped at reporters as he left the locker room.
Later this evening he wrote a message to fans and media on Twitter, where his account is @FinallyMario and he received numerous insults after the game.
“Write what you want, but at the Confederations Cup you can support another country and I tell you that from the HEART,” he wrote.
“Also, go back and watch the game carefully, ALL OF IT.”
