Balotelli on speeding charge?

Milan striker Mario Balotelli has reportedly had his driving licence withdrawn for speeding.

The 25-year-old has returned to the Rossoneri on loan from Liverpool, and agreed to a strict code of conduct inspired by the Italian airforce.

However, according to Giornale di Brescia, the Italian international was caught speeding in the city of Brescia [Balotelli grew up in the region], close to Stadio Mario Rigamonti early last week.

However, according to Giornale di Brescia, the Italian international was caught speeding in the city of Brescia [Balotelli grew up in the region], close to Stadio Mario Rigamonti early last week.

The newspaper claims Balotelli was traveling at more than 90km/h in his Lamborghini, well above the speed limit on Via Branze of 50km/h.

The forward was caught using a speed gun, and Giornale di Brescia reports he immediately stopped and calmly accepted the charge, saying he hadn’t realised the speed limit.

Balotelli’s licence has been suspended until documents are submitted to local authorities and an ultimate sanction can be decided upon.
