The move to sell arguably their best player has divided opinion in Italy, but former Rossonero goalkeeper Galli is siding with the likes of Christian Vieri.

“The club will surely have made the right evaluations about this,” Galli has told Tuttomercatoweb.

“With the sale of Balotelli, I believe that Milan have demonstrated great strength and above all very clear ideas on how to set up the team for next year.

“It is likely that the decision was consensual, and it makes me smile to think that as yet Mino Raiola has not moved a major player in this market.

“Eventually we will talk about the field, and it may be that Milan will have profited…”

Jackson Martinez is listed as Milan’s first choice option to replace Balotelli with.

“I saw him play in the Champions League this week, I think that he might be the right name.

“He is a prima punta who moves around a lot, with great physicality and a great impact in the penalty area. He could do very well in Italy.

“He is a squad man, who plays with his teammates and not as an individual, like Balotelli.

“At a time of reconstruction, Milan have chosen to focus on the group at the expense of individuality.”
