Davide Ballardini still believes there is room for Genoa to improve after an important 1-0 win over Sassuolo.
Andrej Galabinov’s late winner at Marassi secured three points for the Griffone, putting clear day-light between themselves and the relegation zone.
“It was a very difficult game,” Ballardini admitted after the final whistle. “Sassuolo are a team we have known about for a long time.
“They have quality players, especially up front.
“We did well not to give much away and stay compact.

“In terms of our own play, we can do better. It’s important to have balance, but we can be more incisive.”
Ballardini heaped praise on Galabinov for providing the match-winning moment despite not featuring much this season.
“Galabinov? He scored a nice goal. It shows that Genoa players always train their best and, when they are called upon, they respond.”
