The Giallorossi fell to a second consecutive loss, beaten 3-2 at home by Milan on Saturday evening.

“We are a young team and it's going to take patience,” said the director and former England general manager.

“The important thing is to grow, which we can only do through good football. Luis Enrique has the full faith of the club and we'll carry on along this path.”

Baldini thanked the Stadio Olimpico crowd for not jeering their team despite the poor results.

“The Giallorossi crowd have realised the value of our project. We want to build a great squad and the future is ours.

“At the moment, though, we cannot afford to sign big champions. If we lose, then the fans are only right to protest, but I am happy with their attitude.”

Many critics are now calling for Marco Borriello to be used in order to give strength to the attack.

“There is no problem with Marco. Neither the Coach nor the club have anything against him. Luis Enrique makes his decisions and Borriello's turn will come, so there's no point making up controversy.”
