Inter's sporting director Piero Ausilio denies categorically they will sell Mauro Icardi to Napoli: 'There is no clause, end of story'.
The Azzurri are planning an assault on the Nerazzurro as a replacement for Gonzalo Higuain, who is set to join Juventus.
“We had a meeting with Napoli, certainly, but we're not going to give him to them,” Ausilio told FcInterNews. “It's not about the money. There's no negotiation, we're going to keep Icardi because we mean to reinforce the team and that's done by keeping the top players.
“I'm not interested in what Napoli are able to offer. Icardi has no clause and Inter don't mean to sell him, it's that simple.
“We have no problem with the player, he's working well, he's been with us for years and he became the captain of an important team with a glorious tradition.
“We've always been mindful of his needs and we always renewed his contract at the right moment. Now is not the right moment to renew it again.
“There are other priorities, on the pitch and in the business. We'll discuss it later, when we're not subject to all this media scrutiny.”
