Atalanta have wasted no time in rejecting reports that they are interested in signing Juventus forward Amauri during January.
Stories this morning suggested that the Nerazzurri were keen on the striker who is set to leave Turin after Christmas.
“It’s absolutely not true,” Atalanta technical director Pierpaolo Marino told TMW on Tuesday afternoon.
“We don’t need Amauri, he’s not a player for Atalanta. We are happy with German Denis, Simone Tiribocchi, Manolo Gabbiadini and Guido Marilungo.
“What has Amauri got to do with the project we have here? I really don’t know who would benefit from spreading this rumour.”
Amauri, the Brazilian-born Italian international, hasn’t featured for the Old Lady this season after rejecting a summer exit.
With just six months left on his Turin deal, Amauri will be available for transfer at a nominal fee. English club Tottenham are thought to be very keen.
