Atalanta have already scheduled a medical for Italy international Mateo Retegui, who is due to arrive in Bergamo by Thursday morning after agreeing to a permanent transfer from Genoa.

Atalanta will pay a fee of €22m plus €3m in bonuses for the Azzurri international, who cost Genoa a fee of €15m when he moved to Serie A from Argentine outfit Tigre last summer.
The 25-year-old comes in as an emergency replacement for international colleague Gianluca Scamacca, who is expected to miss more than half of the 2024-25 Serie A season after rupturing his cruciate ligament (ACL) in a pre-season friendly against Parma on Sunday evening.
La Dea have one more pre-season friendly lined up this summer, against Bundesliga newcomers St. Pauli in Hamburg on Friday.
Gian Piero Gasperini and his squad will then set off for Warsaw, where they are due to play Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup next Wednesday, August 14.
They will then get their Serie A season underway with an away trip to Lecce.
