Gian Piero Gasperini got his wish, as Atalanta will play Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid in the European Super Cup on August 14 in Warsaw.
La Dea earned their right to compete in the tournament after winning the Europa League with a 3-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen.
It was their first ever UEFA piece of silverware and means they will also get to play the winners of the Champions League in the UEFA European Super Cup.
This traditionally kicks off the new campaign and is currently scheduled for August 14 in Warsaw.
Atalanta and Real Madrid set the date

Atalanta coach Gasperini had said he dreamed of a game against Real Madrid in the European Super Cup and he will get his wish, because Ancelotti won his fifth Champions League trophy as a coach.
