Atalanta can beat Everton to Toure

French newspaper L’Equipe claims that Atalanta have beaten Everton to the signature of Almeria striker El Bilal Toure.

The deal is believed to be worth in the region of €20m with a contract that holds him to the Bergamo side until June 2028.

While Everton narrowly avoided relegation from the Premier League, Atalanta have qualified for the Europa League and had been in the Champions League recently.

All these factors have helped point Toure towards accepting the transfer towards Atalanta.

The 21-year-old scored seven goals in 21 LaLiga games last season, although he missed two months from April to May with a muscular injury.

Toure is a Mali international with five goals in 15 senior caps for his country.

There had been other links too, including Napoli, Milan and Fulham.

Almeria purchased the striker from Stade Reims only a year ago for €8m and the price now is expected to be circa €20m.
