Arthur to Arsenal, Loftus-Cheek for Juventus?

Reports continue to grow in Italy and England that Arthur Melo has agreed a loan move to Arsenal, so Juventus are targeting Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek as a replacement.

The midfielder arrived as part of an exchange deal from Barcelona with Miralem Pjanic in the summer of 2020 with a transfer value of €76m plus bonuses.

However, he failed to make much of an impact under Andrea Pirlo or Max Allegri and will be allowed to move on in the right circumstances.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Sky Sport Italia and more, Arthur has given the all-clear for a six-month loan at Arsenal, where he would work with coach Mikel Arteta.

The Gunners would cover his fully salary for that period and give Juventus a fee for the loan.

The only remaining issue is the Bianconeri won’t let him go without a replacement and Sky Sport Italia pundit Gianluca Di Marzio maintains the target is Loftus-Cheek.

The England international turns 26 later this month and had also been linked with Roma over the summer.

He spent last season on loan at Fulham and has 20 competitive appearances under his belt for Chelsea so far this term.
