Arsenal pair Granit Xhaka and Laurent Koscielny are major doubts for Thursday’s Europa League quarter-final first leg against Napoli.
Xhada has missed Arsenal’s last two Premier League matches with a groin injury, while Koscielny has been similarly absent for the Gunners’ games since the international break, only returning from a serious Achilles problem in December.
“I don’t know, Koscielny had to come back today, but yesterday we knew it wasn’t possible,” manager Unai Emery admitted after his side’s 1-0 defeat to Everton on Sunday.
“I want to be positive for Thursday, but it depends on how he recovers. For Xhaka it is the same thing, he is a doubt for Thursday.
“We have other players and we know we can produce a performance with those players, we have won before with those players.”
The first leg will be played at Emirates Stadium as Napoli look to end a nine-match winless streak on English soil.
