Arrigoni: ‘Cesena’s derby decider’

Daniele Arrigoni wants to see a “gritty Cesena with the right attitude” in today’s Emilia-Romagna derby against Bologna.

The Coach replaced Marco Giampaolo with his team rooted to the foot of the table, but was beaten at home by 10-man Lecce on his debut.

“We are not going through an easy moment, but to get out of it we above all need results,” said Arrigoni ahead of the 11.30am UK time kick-off.

“I want to see a gritty Cesena with the right attitude and desire to fight for every ball. Many tough games await us, so it’s important to step on to the field with the proper psychological approach.

“We’ve got to start from basic concepts and the small things that can bring confidence back to the group.

“What is the locker room atmosphere like? I’ll be honest, I still don’t know what the lads think. They are very good at hiding their emotions. After this match I might have a better idea.”

Bologna also had a dire start to the season, but have picked themselves up since the arrival of new Coach Stefano Pioli.

“They may be better off in the table, but Bologna are not a better team than Cesena. We do have to watch out for Gaston Ramirez, as he is capable of winning a game by himself.”
