Giampaolo Pozzo has confirmed that Napoli have held initial talks over Pablo Armero and other Udinese players too.
Armero has again been paired with a switch south today, named as one of three targets Napoli have identified in the market.
Confirming that these reports are not wide of the mark, Udinese President Pozzo also chose to reveal that he isn’t the only Zebrette man the two clubs have discussed.
“As a provincial side, every time the transfer window opens it is difficult to keep hold of our valuable players,” began the owner, who recently completed a takeover of English Championship side Watford.
“At the same time, though, we have good scouts based around the world and therefore we always think that we can replace good players who are leaving.
“Armero to Napoli? They are interested, indeed, but as in all affairs in football, until there is a signature nothing is concrete.
“They are talking not just about Armero, but also other players. However, I will admit only that we’ve spoken about Armero’s possible transfer to Napoli.
“But, a chat is not equivalent to interest.”
Last week saw the Vesuviani linked with a triple-purchase of Udinese players Armero, Juan Cuadrado and Mehdi Benatia.
