The representative of Alberto Aquilani is not surprised by the Fiorentina player’s inclusion in Italy’s Confederations Cup squad.

The midfielder made the final cut last night after an impressive campaign with the Viola under boss Vincenzo Montella.

“He’s a really important player and he didn’t let the chance of a return to the national set-up slip away,” Franco Zavaglia told Radio Sportiva.

“In the last three seasons with Juventus, Milan and Fiorentina, Alberto has always played so you can’t say that he has lacked consistency.

“He’s so hungry to play football and he’s always ready to prove that.

“Montella and Fiorentina deserve praise for putting him in the best possible position to express himself.”

The Roman has scored four goals in 23 caps for his country, including a strike in Friday’s 4-0 win over San Marino.
