The South American’s future at San Siro is in doubt amidst interest from a number of clubs in his homeland.

However, the left-back insists that the former Real Madrid and Manchester City man can still make a telling contribution with the Diavolo.

“Robinho is a great player and it’s always better to have him in your team,” the Italian noted. “He’s important for us and let’s hope he stays.”

Antonini was in action last night as Milan beat Reggina 3-0 in the Italian Cup to set up a tie against Juventus in the next round.

“Inter managed to get a win at the Juventus Stadium and I don’t see why we can’t do the same,” he stated.
