Marco Andreolli said the 0-0 draw with Qarabag was “a step closer” to what Roberto Mancini asks of Inter.
The Nerazzurri had already qualified top of the group before this evening’s stalemate in Baku, so rotated the squad with many young players.
“We gave everything,” said the defender on Sport Mediaset. “It was important to put playing time in our legs and tonight we got a step closer to what the Coach asks of us.

“Now we need to make up for lost time in Serie A too.”
Qarabag would’ve qualified with a win, but were distraught at the 94th minute when an apparently valid goal was disallowed.
“I am sorry for Qarabag and all their fans who tonight sought qualification with everything they had, but it was important for us to get a positive result.”
