The Coach was promoted from the staff when Zdenek Zeman was sacked at the start of February, but newspapers have been filled with speculation over who will take over next season.
“I have nothing to prove. At my age and with my CV, I’ll leave it to others to judge,” he said in his Press conference.
“The English bookmakers say I am favourite to be the Roma Coach next year. I am not looking for confirmation, as I am an employee of Roma and carry on the job the club asked me to do.
“Nobody has ever asked me if I wanted to stay on the bench. I decide my destiny and for now I am trying to save a season that started badly, re-evaluating many of the players who had been struggling. This isn’t a problem for me and I remain focused only on winning the Coppa Italia Final.
“Allegri and Mazzarri? I like them a lot and consider them to be my ideal Coaches. They’ve shown quality with results that started from smaller clubs, building up their experience. I think they would do well at Roma.”
Daniele De Rossi and Federico Balzaretti are out of tomorrow night’s game due to injury.
