Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti went viral for a couple of moments during El Clasico today, twice showing his trademark calm demeanour on the Real Madrid touchline against Barcelona at Camp Nou.
The hosts had taken the lead with Ilkay Gundogan, but Ancelotti was keeping his cards close to his chest, introduced Jude Bellingham and the substitute scored twice late on for the 2-1 victory.
During the first half, a clip went viral on social media with Ancelotti calmly chewing his gum while fitness coach and fellow Italian Francesco Mauri screamed and gesticulated in his face.
Many Real Madrid fans shared the clip, noting they felt like Mauri at that moment, urging Ancelotti to shake things up.
That same calm proved valuable in stoppages when Vinicius Junior, who had been winding up the opposition all game, took an age to leave the pitch during his substitution.
Spotting trouble if this continued, Ancelotti grabbed Vinicius by the arm and led him quickly back to the bench.
It was compared to a father having had enough of an unruly child or a dog handler with an irritable puppy.
The Ancelotti chill was also in full view when Bellingham scored the winner. Not that you would know it from his reaction.
