Marco Amelia’s agent has explained the player’s about turn and his willingness to stay with Milan until at least the summer.
The goalkeeper had tweeted earlier in the month that he had asked to leave the Rossoneri, having fallen down the pecking order under Massimiliano Allegri.
However, on from Allegri’s replacmenet with Clarence Seedorf, Amelia indicated that he would be staying at San Siro, something now reiterated by his agent.
“Why? It was for a simple reason, because of course he could see that there is a different view,” Franco Zavala has told milannews.it today.
“It is not that he has been promised that he will always play, but that Seedorf will take him into account, not only if he plays but even if he does not play. I think there should be no problems.
“Could Amelia stay beyond the summer too? We will have to see what happens between now and June.
“We will see the consideration that he will have with this new coaching staff, then we will decide his future.
“Marco wanted to leave Milan to play, he wanted to earn a place at the World Cup in Brazil. Hopefully this space can be achieved with Milan and with Milan he can go to the World Cup.
“His outburst at Allegri? There are guys who play and those who don’t and they should be treated in the same way.
“It should not be that they are supported when they are needed, and then when they are not, they are ignored. Nowadays, one of the main components [to coaching] is to be able to manage the group, try to treat them well, especially those who play less, with those that start there is not so much of a need.”
