The Azzurri President Aurelio De Laurentiis heated up the preparations for the big Final between Napoli and Juventus in the Coppa Italia by claiming that Sarri ‘forced’ him to change coach.
Borriello, who has experienced stints at clubs like Milan, Juventus, Roma, Sampdoria, Cagliari, Atalanta and SPAL, has claimed the coach only followed his ambitions.
“I’m the last person to talk, given the number of teams I have played for,” Borriello told Tuttosport. “People often talk about traitors, instead it’s just ambition.
“Sarri’s cycle at Napoli had ended. And let’s be honest: Who would reject a call from Juventus?”
