Ricky Alvarez has promised fans that Inter will be fighting for both domestic and European titles this season.
Speaking the Inter’s official news channel, the Argentine attacking midfielder covered a number of points of discussion in a lengthy interview.
Despite the team’s poor start to the 2011-12 season in Serie A, Alvarez revealed that optimism of a title push remains intact. Thanking the fans for his treatment since arriving at San Siro, the 23-year-old spoke of the Nerazzurri’s ambitions.

“I'm grateful to the fans for their affection. There's still a lot I have to improve on but I'll make them proud; that's a promise.
“I want to win lots of trophies with Inter. We want to win Serie A and the Champions League.
“We're playing better and we can get better still. We have to play more and much better, but we're already starting to find more balance and produce better football; we're starting to look like the real Inter. We're all hungry for success.
“My teammates have won everything and those of us who are new have to help this team win everything again. I'm very happy to be playing here, in this club. It's a dream come true for me. I want to win for these fans.”
When prompted to talk of his midweek goal in the Champions League, Alvarez took the opportunity to speak of his relationship with Diego Milito – who played a part in that goal – and with all of his teammates.
“Before the game [Claudio] Ranieri said to me to look for Milito and play a one-two off him; that's what I did and a goal came from it. Diego gave a fantastic return ball. He put me in one-on-one against the ‘keeper and I couldn't miss from there.
“My relationship with him and with all my team-mates is excellent. Do I speak to the Argentines more? I do a bit, yes; that's natural because my Italian's not great yet but I have an excellent relationship with all my teammates.
“I'm so happy to be playing in this side and now I want to keep improving so that I can stay at Inter for many years to come.”
The €11.75m summer signing from Velez also gave an insight into his particular relationship with Coach Ranieri.
“He always talks to me about how I can improve, how to understand Italian football better, because it's different from the football in Argentina.
“The game is faster here and there's less time to think. I know it's different here but I'll do my best to learn so that I can enjoy myself.”
