The Spanish defender joined Jose Callejon and Gonzalo Higuain in making the move from Santiago Bernabeu to Stadio San Paolo.

And the defender has admitted that he is looking forward to doing well with his new club.

“I chose Naples because it is a city that lives for football,” he told a Press conference.

“The fans have a great passion.

“I can play in many different positions, but it will be up to Benitez where I play.

“I will just make myself available to the team.

“I think it’s going to be a very competitive League this year with lots of good teams.

“Napoli had a great season last time, so we will have to work together for that to happen again.

“Hopefully I can adapt to Italian football quickly with the help of my teammates.”
