The Romanian has been paired with a variety of outfits given that he could be available on a free transfer, but reports in Holland are suggesting that Ajax are keen.
The 31-year-old caught the eye of Europe’s top sides during his four-year stint with the Dutch outfit after his move there in 1999.
He then left Ajax for Roma before moving on to Inter in the summer of 2007.
Chivu recently vented his frustration at mainly being used as a left-back in Milan rather than in his preferred centre-back role.
