Mauro Zarate’s agent admits the striker “would like to play more” but assures he wants to stay with Fiorentina.
The 29-year-old has just played 98 minutes in all competitions this season, but has still managed to score twice.
In addition, the Argentine came off the bench to provide an assist against Palermo on Sunday night, setting up Khouma Babacar’s last-minute winner.
“He was very happy to have made a major contribution to the team,” Fabio Firmani, one of Zarate’s agents told FirenzeViola.

“For him to come on and contribute to an unexpected victory is of course a source of great pride.
“Honestly we expected him to be used more frequently, but every team is made up of choices which you have to respect. It’s logical that Mauro wants to play more.
“The issue is delicate, [Paulo] Sousa is the Fiorentina Coach and he picks the team every Sunday, Mauro has never contested his decisions.
“Zarate is absolutely not thinking about the transfer market, he feels great in Florence and he’s very grateful to the city from a human point of view for the affection he received in a difficult time.
“He’ll always feel indebted to Florentines, and now he’s totally focused on the Viola shirt. His first desire is to do well with Fiorentina, if the club change their plans then they’ll tell us.
“As with all situations, they could change their mind in January but so far I haven’t heard anything about that.
“I met [Pantaleo] Corvino to evaluate things and there certainly didn’t seem to be the foundations for a goodbye.”
