Nemanja Vidic risks six months out following back surgery, but the Inter defender “has a strong physique and will recover quickly.”
The 33-year-old Serbia international will go under the knife this week after suffering from a lumbar disc herniation and the outlook is not good.
Initial reports suggest he could be out of action for anywhere between three and six months.
“We’ll see, as we are not doctors,” agent Silvano Martina told Tuttomercatoweb.

He had been on the transfer market, but it’s unlikely he’ll get a move in these circumstances.
“I haven’t heard from anyone and quite frankly I wouldn’t know what to say. He has another two years on his contract, so first he’ll get fit again and then we’ll see.
“Inter have certainly always had the utmost respect for the player. When the time comes, we’ll discuss the future. The important thing now is to heal.
“I think he’s a great football player and still has many years ahead of him.”
Inter could well ask to terminate the contract by mutual consent, thereby saving on his wages.
