The Czech international joined the Giallorossi on loan with obligation to buy this summer after a move to Juventus collapsed, but he had offers from elsewhere.
“If we’d only considered the name and the financial aspect we’d probably have said yes to Paris Saint-Germain,” Pavel Paska told iSport Blesk.

“They were serious and wouldn’t give up. Then we realised Roma would be the best solution.
“Sampdoria had better offers on the table, but the President [Massimo Ferrero] kept his word about respecting the lad’s will.
“Then we closed things with the Giallorossi in 15 minutes.”
