Alex Meret’s agent confirmed Napoli “have shown the most conviction and I think would be one of the best solutions for him.”

The Udinese goalkeeper spent the last two seasons on loan at SPAL, helping them achieve promotion and then remain in Serie A.
Only 21 years old, he has emerged as the favourite ahead of Paris Saint-Germain shot-stopper Alphonse Areola to take over from Pepe Reina at the Stadio San Paolo.
“He is a young goalkeeper, considered by more or less everyone to be one of the best in Europe,” agent Federico Pastorello told La Domenica Sportiva on Rai Sport.
“There are some situations that intersect and he is somewhere in the middle of it, especially when it comes to Serie A.
“For now, Napoli are the side who have shown the most conviction and in purely football terms I think would be one of the best solutions for him.
“I have no doubts he could become a hero for the Napoli fans.”
Roma and Fiorentina are also interested in Meret, but the €25m asking price is proving an issue.
He also has a poor injury record, ruled out for four months by a sports hernia in October 2017, then damaging his shoulder in April.
It means he has only 13 Serie A appearances under his belt.
