Jose Callejon’s agent confirmed “the situation is in stand-by” when it comes to contract negotiations with Napoli, as he’ll be a free agent in June.
The 32-year-old winger has been at the Stadio San Paolo since 2013 and his current deal is due to expire at the end of this season.
“Napoli presented us their proposal for a contract renewal three months ago,” agent Manuel Garcia Quilon told Radio Kiss Kiss.
“The situation is in stand-by. We can only wait, I cannot add any more to that.”

Callejon and Dries Mertens are in a similar situation, as they will both be free agents in June 2020 if new contracts are not agreed.
Napoli have reportedly offered to give extensions only if the players agree to lower their wages.
If deals cannot be done, then it’s possible the club will try to sell in January to avoid losing money on the transfers.
