Fiorentina patron Andrea Della Valle is “very happy Nikola Kalinic rejected an offer that seemed too good to refuse” from Tianjin Quanjian.

The Croatia international was reportedly considering wages worth over €10m per year, while the club would’ve pocketed €38m for the transfer.

However, yesterday Kalinic announced that he was turning down the proposal from China.

However, yesterday Kalinic announced that he was turning down the proposal from China.

“We’re happy that Nikola is staying with us,” wrote patron Della Valle on the Fiorentina website.

“Above all, he rejected an offer that seemed too good to refuse, once again proving his worth as a man, which we had never doubted, his professionalism and attachment to the jersey.

“Well done, Nikola!”

Kalinic cannot feature for Fiorentina against Chievo today, as he is suspended.
