Fiorentina patron Andrea Della Valle was more worried by injuries than the 2-1 Europa League defeat to Basel.
The Viola lost Josip Ilicic (sprained ankle) and Davide Astori (head injury), while Gonzalo Rodriguez was sent off.
“It’s a shame, as until the 70th minute we had controlled the advantage well,” Della Valle told reporters.

“We knew Basel were a team to fear and were coming off eight consecutive victories. Gonzalo’s red card was decisive, but it’s nothing dramatic.”
Elsewhere in Group I, Lech Poznan drew 0-0 with Belenenses.
“This remains a pretty easy group and we will try to take what few positives we saw tonight. Paulo Sousa will learn from this for the future and I am sure it will eventually prove to be a painless defeat.
“Let’s not make a drama out of it, as we always learn something from setbacks. I am more worried about the injuries to Astori and Ilicic.”
