The Azzurri beat Borussia Dortmund, last season’s beaten finalists, 2-1 at the Stadio San Paolo. Summer signing Gonzalo Higuain and local boy Lorenzo Insigne got the goals.
“Last night against Borussia was one of the most beautiful evenings since I became Napoli President,” he wrote on Twitter.
“Thank you to everybody. Now let’s move on in the same way!”
The movie mogul bought Napoli in 2004 and has helped lead the club from Serie C to the Champions League in less than a decade.
