Alessandro Iacopino, the Press officer for the hospital, has now revealed Lazio defender Acerbi went above and beyond the call of duty.
He was told the team bus had to leave, but replied: “I don’t care, they can go. I’ll get a taxi, but I won’t leave until I’ve seen everyone.”
This is a cause very close to Acerbi’s heart, as he was twice diagnosed with testicular cancer in recent years and underwent chemotherapy.
