Roma star striker Tammy Abraham has already scored 20 goals this season, just one less than Gabriel Batistuta and Vincenzo Montella in their first year at the Stadio Olimpico.
The English striker is having a stunning debut season in the capital having scored 20 goals in 36 appearances across all competitions. He is the most prolific English player in Europe’s top five leagues and is just one goal short of club legends Batistuta and Montella in their first season at the club.
The ex-Italy striker scored 21 goals in 41 appearances in the capital in 1999-2000, his first season in Rome. Batistuta joined him one year later from Fiorentina and scored the same amount of goals (21) in 32 games. Roma won the title in that same season under Fabio Capello.
Abraham is enjoying his time at the Stadio Olimpico and thanked Roma fans on social media after Saturday’s win over Atalanta where he scored the decisive goal. The 24-year-old joined Roma in a €40m deal from Chelsea last summer and the Blues have an option to re-sign him in 2023 for circa €80m.
