“I think Atlético are fair winners and they deserve to be quarter-finalists,” he told uefa.com.
“They have a good team and a good coach. We didn't play well [in the defeat at Udinese] at the weekend and we took another step back tonight.
“Their second goal was a pity for us as it took a deflection before dropping in.
“We now need to recharge our batteries for our next match.”
