Juventus have confirmed the anticipated recovery times for Andrea Barzagli and Giorgio Chiellini after tests were carried out on respective injuries.

Barzagli was removed before half time of Juve’s 1-1 draw with Chievo at the weekend complaining of a calf problem, whilst Chiellini was forced to finish the same game with a similar complaint only because the Bianconeri had used all their substitutions.

Tests have since been carried out on the duo and the club has now confirmed the varying severity of each player’s injury.

Barzagli’s calf strain is likely to see him miss up to three weeks of action – including the Coppa Italia semi-final second leg with Milan –  whilst Chiellini’s lesser inflammation rules him out for a minimum of 10 days and Juve’s next two fixtures.

For the midweek clash with Bologna, Antonio Conte is likely to use Leonardo Bonucci and Martin Caceres as the centre-back pairing.
