President Aurelio De Laurentiis confirms Fiorentina’s Matias Vecino could join Napoli in the summer.

The Uruguayan spent last season on loan with Empoli, where he worked with Partenopei Coach Maurizio Sarri.

Having returned to the Viola, the 24-year-old made 30 appearances in Serie A this season, scoring twice, leading to rumours he could re-unite with Sarri in Naples.

“There’s a special love between the player and the Coach,” De Laurentiis acknowledged on Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

“There are others though. We shouldn’t insist on non-runners, by which I mean that when Napoli calls you, you must come running.

“Whoever doesn’t come running hasn’t understood the extraordinary thing that is Napoli. If that’s the case, you’re better staying where you are…”
