Camilo Zuniga hits out at Napoli after being frozen-out – “it’s a choice by the club and not the Coach.”
The Colombian international has played just 13 Serie A matches across the last three seasons after a series of injuries.
The full-back claims he has now fully recovered, but that Coach Maurizio Sarri is not being allowed to pick him.
“Firstly I want to say I’m fine, thank God,” Zuniga began, speaking to El Tiempo.

“In terms of my situation, I want to clarify that I’m training, but I’m not playing because I’m not under consideration for the club and technical staff.
“Physically I’m fine, I don’t really know why I’m not being considered! What’s happening to me is very strange, I’m not even getting on the bench.
“It’s a choice by the club and not the new Coach [Sarri] who has just arrived, so I understand.
“I’ve spoken to the sporting director [Cristiano Giuntoli]. They, like me, are waiting for the January transfer window.
“Selling me would be easier if I had a chance to play. It’s not an easy situation, because you work hard to recover and help the team, then you don’t get called.
“It requires a lot of mental strength, otherwise you take hasty decisions. I’ve been silent for many months, but I’ve decided to speak out, because people – especially in Colombia – are asking me and I want to reiterate that I have no problem and I’m physically fine.
“I completed the Copa America and was fine, if I’m not playing at Napoli then it’s a question for the club. All I want now is to play and find a club that has faith in me.
“I want to be ready for January, I always train well. These last two years have been terrible for me, my injury happened at the peak of my career.
“I need consistency now, because I’m basically starting from scratch.”
